Dr. Jared Pearson O.D.
Dr. Pearson grew up on a cattle ranch in Britton, SD, and graduated from Britton High School. He then attended North Dakota State University and received a B.S in Zoology, and a Doctor of Optometry degree at Pacific University. While at Pacific University he did research on specialty tinted contact lenses and the effect on baseball performance. He received additional training in specialty clinics for pediatrics, vision therapy, contact lenses, ocular disease, and low vision at Washington State School for the Blind. Dr. Pearson has dedicated over 1000 hours in 2020 to furthering his education in Vision Therapy to assist patients with developmental and traumatic brain injuries that affect vision and quality of life. He also has a special interest in improving sports performance by optimizing visual performance. He lives in Summerset with his son Bo. They enjoy their time outdoors in various ways, fishing, hunting, baseball, and gardening.
Dr. Dawn Wattenhofer O.D.
Dr. Wattenhofer has practiced optometry in Rapid City since 1998, starting as a sublease doctor next to a national chain. She spent two years working with an ophthalmologist prior to opening our downtown location in 2011. Dr. Wattenhofer lives in Rapid City with her husband, Corey, who is a real-estate appraiser, they have 4 children and one grandbaby. They enjoy the outdoor activities in the Black Hills, camping, ATV, and skiing. Dr. Wattenhofer grew up in Gillette, Wyoming, and attended Black Hills State University before going to Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon. At Pacific University, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Vision Science and her Doctor of Optometry Degree. Dr. Wattenhofer has dedicated hundreds of hours to continuing her education on the overall health and wellness of the body and its effects on the eyes. She specializes in dry eye treatment through our Ocular Surface Disease Clinic at Vision Source Specialists.
